AIR SEPARATOR FOR CLEANING GRAIN Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: air separators used for cleaning grain from light admixtures at grain processing plants and grain cleaning and drying complexes.

SUBSTANCE: proposed air separator includes loading bin with feed pipe and feed unit provided with grain mixture distributor, pneumatic separating passage, settling chamber with sluice gate and receiving and discharging unit for light admixtures and refuses. Feed unit is made in form of receiving distributing passage formed between taper-and-cylindrical dome and taper-and-cylindrical insert mounted under it with base of cylindrical part directed downward; grain mixture distributor is made in form of divider with pointed end mounted in center of feed pipe hole at area where it is connected with dome; its base is mounted on top of taper part of insert. Pneumatic separating passage is located coaxially under base of insert and is bounded in the periphery by air distributing screen whose upper end face is connected with dome and lower end face is connected with setting chamber, thus forming circular clearance with cylindrical casing mounted on settling chamber and connected with base of taper-and-cylindrical dome. Receiving and discharging unit for light admixtures and refuses is made in form of branch pipes mounted coaxially in central part of pneumatic separating passage under base of insert; refuse receiving branch pipe is mounted for adjustment of height of edge of its hole formed around light admixture receiving branch pipe.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of cleaning grain from light admixtures; reduced power requirements for technological process.
