SOFA-BED Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: furniture industry, in particular, transformable furniture, wherein sofa-bed may be transformed into two-tier bed.

SUBSTANCE: sofa-bed has base, back, rear wall and vertical sides. Back is pivotally connected with vertical sides. Rear wall is equipped with guiding slots having receptacles. In order to convert sofa-bed into two-tier bed, sofa-bed is furnished with holders pivotally connected with their one end to back, with other ends of holders being inserted into guiding slots for moving and retaining back in receptacles, when back is in horizontal position. Back has increased thickness along perimeter at outer side. Vertical sides are furnished with leg recesses.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability in operation, wider operational capabilities and convenient employment of sofa-bed.
