GENERAL-PURPOSE SOFA-BED Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: furniture production. SUBSTANCE: sofa-bed has rear wall, back mounted above seat and equipped with transformation mechanism with pair of levers fixed on supports and pivotally connected to back upper part, and linen box. Sofa-bed may be transformed into two-tier bed with upper and lower sleeping berths. Sofa-bed is further equipped with carcass carrying rear wall, seat, two U-shaped side members, and supports made in the form of spacers positioned between carcass and side members. Back is pivotally fixed from the top to side members and is attached from the bottom to lever of transformation mechanism by means of bracket mounted to said back. Back is positioned for rotation and may be disposed in horizontal position of upper sleeping berth. Sofa-bed is further provided with legs, which are inserted under back of upper sleeping berth, when sofa-bed is transformed to two-tier bed position and fixed in said position, and with legs, which are located under lower sleeping berth, when sofa-bed is transformed into double bed and fixed in said position.
