FOLDING DIVAN Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC A47C17/16 

FIELD: furniture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of manufacture of transformable furniture. Proposed folding divan contains seat with base, rear wall, sides with recesses for legs, removable spring-loaded back with guard hinge-connected with members of folding divan to form at least one additional sleeping place when folding divan is set in "bed" position. Each side is provided with rear and front posts with inner pins. Back is fastened from top by end face slots open from opposite side to spring-loaded surface on pins of rear posts. From below it is hinge-connected by armrests with front posts. Armrest are installed vertically with tilting from axes of hinge joints of front posts to axes of hinge joints of guard and back, when forming additional sleeping place. Fixing load-bearing hinged triangles are formed with back at its end faces. When forming additional sleeping place before seat, armrests are set horizontally, with backward tilting, to form supports together with guard.

EFFECT: simplified design, enlarged functional interchangeability of members, improved reliability.
