FIELD: transport engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of increasing active safety of vehicles. In proposed method of limiting speed of vehicle the vehicle is considered as linear system to input of which stationary random signal from four sensors is supplied from road profile. Said signal is integrated two times by means of series-connected integrators at output of which variable components of side displacement and angle of turn are obtained. Signal is supplied to correlator determining, by variable components, pulse transient functions of object after which signal is supplied to electronic computer by means of which amplitude-phase-frequency characteristics are obtained by integrating pulse transient functions, and equivalent mathematic model of vehicle is formed by characteristic points of amplitude-phase-frequency characteristics, and then amplitude-phase-frequency characteristics curves λ1 and λ2 are plotted and such value of speed is found at which λ1 and λ2 intersect real part in point equal to 1, i.e. Re(λ1)=Re(λ2)=1, Im(λ1)=Im(λ2)=0 after which speed limiting signal is generated.
EFFECT: limiting of maximum speed in straight-line running of vehicle as to course stability with due account of dynamic characteristics of vehicle at side motion.
