FIELD: polymerization processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention provides a method for preparing water-permeable porous materials via graft-polymerization of polar monomers on activated polymeric matrices in presence of redox system as initiator, said polar monomer being acrylic acid, said polymeric matrix preliminarily ozonized porous polyethylene containing hydroperoxide (peroxide) groups, and said redox system being hydroperoxide (peroxide) or sulfur dioxide. Material is characterized by water permeability 5.6 ml/min·cm3.
EFFECT: enabled preparation of hydrophilic material capable of quickly absorbing water without use of stimulating pressure.
