FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of grafting hydrolysable and cross-linkable groups to polymers, the formed graft polymers and methods of cross-linking graft polymers. Disclosed is a method of grafting hydrolysable silane groups to a polyolefin, which involves reaction of a polyolefin with an unsaturated silane which contains an olefin bond -CH=CH- or an acetylene bond -C≡C- and contains at least one hydrolysable group bonded to Si, or a hydrolysate thereof, in the presence of agents for forming free-radical centres in the polymer. The silane contains an additional olefin double bond or an acetylene unsaturation, which are conjugated with the olefin -CH=CH- or acetylene -C≡C- unsaturation of the silane, said unsaturated silane being a sorbyloxy alkylsilane. Disclosed also is a silane-modified polyolefin, having high grafting efficiency while limiting/preventing destruction of polymer chains by a splitting mechanism.
EFFECT: disclosed method provides high grafting efficiency while preventing polymer destruction by chain splitting mechanism; the obtained silane-modified polyolefin is suitable for producing composite materials with improved physical and chemical properties.
