METHOD FOR TRANSPLANTATION OF WOODY PLANTS IN SUMMER Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: plant growing, in particular, forestry and aesthetic forestry, dendrology, horticulture and amenity planting, may be used in transplanting of three-five year woody trees in summer.

SUBSTANCE: method involves selecting plants on vital activity and decorativeness criteria; at the beginning of summer, selecting entirely leafed plants free from annual green stem swollen; in the midsummer, selecting entirely leafed plants, both free from annual green swollen and having such a swollen, provided that said plants are lignified; digging out plants from soil and placing their root system into containers filled with soil; holding plants in shadow and watering their roots and spraying their green mass with water until adaptation to shadowing conditions; moving plants to open site for exposing to sun rays while continuing watering and spraying procedures until adaptation to direct sun rays; transporting plants and planting in desired site. Retention of initial decorativeness of plants is used as criterion of adaptation to transplanting stress.

EFFECT: increased efficiency by creating conditions for retaining initial vital activity of woody plants and improved capacity for survival of woody plants transplanted in summer.
