FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machining and handling of piece articles and it can be used in conveyor transportation of articles. According to invention device includes at least one machining station with at least one input for articles to be machined and with at least one output for machined articles in which means of step positioning of separate articles to be machined and means for delivery of articles to be machined are arranged at input of device, and means of step removal of separate articles from machining station and means for moving off of machined articles are arranged at device output. Device includes machining facility, and input and/or output of device is made in form of feed unit or moving off unit, respectively, said unit can be displaced relative to machining facility. Unit includes rail track with closed path and number of grips moved along rail track with articles from zone of transfer through buffering zone to zone of delivery, and without articles, from zone delivery back into zone of transfer, and drive to transfer articles and drive to deliver articles made independent from article transfer drive. Articles delivery drive in feed unit transmitting moment at least to step positioning means and means of delivery of articles, and in moving off unit, articles transfer drive transmitting moment at least to step articles removal means to remove articles from machining station and moving off articles can be mated with periphery of machining facility at least for synchronizing operation of drive mated with machining facility.
