MACHINE FOR REMOVAL OF BARK FROM FRUIT, PREFERABLY PUMPKIN Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural engineering, may be used in food engineering for processing of cucurbitaceous crop fruits having hard bark, including pumpkin fruit.

SUBSTANCE: machine has frame, hopper, drive drum with brushes, additional brush, clean fruit conveyor and removed bark conveyor. Machine is further equipped with rubberized roll and separator made in the form of truncated cone drum. Axes of rotation of drive drum with brushes, rubberized roll and upper generatrix of surface of truncated cone drum are extending in parallel with one another. Rods provided on truncated cone drum surface in equally spaced angular relationship are reinforced with elastic material. Additional brush is made in the form of pair of rolls rotating in opposite directions and equipped with flexible members and is disposed above drive drum, rubberized roll and truncated cone drum. Axes of rotation of rolls of additional brush are intersecting with axes of rotation of truncated cone drum and rubberized roll. Rolls of additional brush rotating in opposite directions are connected with each other through synchronizing transmission. Additional brush has individual drive. Each of kinematically connected rubberized roll, truncated cone drum and drive drum is furnished with individual electric drive. Electric drives are electrically connected with commercial frequency power mains through frequency converters for continuous alteration of angular velocities of drive shafts.

EFFECT: increased efficiency owing to complete removal of bark from flesh of fruit having hard pumpkin bark.
