FIELD: metallurgy; preparation of chips and sludge for remelting.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes crushing of chips, mechanical wringing-out of lubricant-and-coolant, heating and hot molding. Metal chips at content of lubricant-and-coolant of 3-6% and bulk density of 700-1000 kg/m3 are heated to temperature of 670-690°C at rate of 7-9°C/min in atmosphere of oil vapor pyrolysis performed in closed space at ratio length of heated layer to its width of 5-8:1. Then cold metal sludge is fed to heated chips at preset content of lubricant-and-coolant of 2-5% in the amount of 5-25% of mass of mixture. Proposed method makes it possible to briquet low-plastic hardly-deformable steels and to obtain briquettes with additives of powder sludge.
EFFECT: low cost of process; enhanced ecological safety.
