SUBSTANCE: the hybrid switchgears have a series-connected electromechanical switch and a semiconductor switch. The device has a series-connected electromechanical switch and a semiconductor switch, control system of semiconductor switch having opening, holding and closing units, as well as a load current transducer, in addition its has a load voltage transducer, whose output is connected to the inputs designed for feeding of the supply voltage of the holding unit, therefore at a load short circuit the supply voltage of the holding unit vanishes, which results in disconnection of the switchgear.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability and expanded functional potentialities.
