FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to electric engineering. Method consists in the following. Direct currents of short-circuit and overloading are interrupted by the first electromechanical switch controlled from direct current relay, and minor and nominal direct currents are interrupted by transistor connected in series with the second electromechanical switch. In this device the transistor and the second electromechanical switch are connected in parallel with the second electromechanical switch and are controlled from shutoff protection device or from tripping button using control systems. Herewith, at first the second electromechanical switch is switched on, then the transistor is switched on and the first electromechanical switch is switched off, then the transistor is switched off, then the second electromechanical switch is switched off. At the same time, the transistor operability is checked and when the transistor is faulty redundant signal for switching off the second electromechanical switch and signal for information unit are generated. The device contains the first and the second electromechanical switches with control system, the transistor with control system, current relay, switching on and switching off buttons, shutoff protection device, relay for transistor control and information unit.
EFFECT: increase in reliability.
