FIELD: railway transport; power supply of railway vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: in chosen section of ac traction system currents and voltages are synchronously measured on each feeder of contact system of each traction substation and on electric locomotives, and measured parameters are recorded at rate from 0.1 to 1 minute. Then power consumptions in traction substations and in electric locomotives are calculated and recorded at the same rate. Power consumption values, thus found on traction substations and on electric locomotives, are transmitted to data acquisition and processing device by means of which power consumed at traction substations within the limits of chosen track section and in electric locomotives moving over this section are calculated. Power losses in traction system of chosen track section are determined as difference between power consumption in traction substations and in electric locomotives.
EFFECT: increased accuracy in determination of power losses.
