FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: ball pivot comprises pin provided with ball head, housing provided with the socket for the pin, insert with the projections provided on its outer surface, and compensating members which are made of a material whose rigidity is different from that of the insert and interposed between the projections. The insert is additionally locked by means of a wedge joint. The ball pivot also has means for preventing the housing to be in a contact with the pin and means for fastening the protecting jacket. The housing of the ball pivot is made for permitting the interface between the hemispherical and cylindrical sections of the inner surface of the housing to be positioned in the plane above the top surface of the fastening member. The ring groove provided in the fastening member is conjugated with the ring groove on the outer surface of the cylindrical section of the housing. The cross-section of the face surface of this section has at least two sides. One of the sides abuts against the outer cylindrical surface of the housing, and the other side abuts against the inner surface. The height of the first side exceeds that of the second one. The insert is provided with spherical projections, and meridional grooves are provided with hollows.
