FIELD: transport engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ball-and-socket joints of front suspensions of vehicles. According to invention, additional shell is provided with central hole whose diameter is 0.25-0.75 of diameter of pin ball head. Vertical lubricating grooves in form of curvilinear lines are made on inner spherical surfaces of main and additional shells. Horizontal lubricating groove is made on inner spherical surface of main shell with displacement from equator by value not exceeding half of length of sphere forming arc. Said horizontal lubricating groove intersects all vertical lubricating grooves. Outer surface of additional shell has no projections and grooves, being made equidistant to inner surface of joint locking member in contact with outer surface. Number of vertical grooves on inner spherical surface of each shell is from 3 to 30. Additional horizontal lubricating grooves are made on inner spherical surface of shell whose number is from 1 to 5. Joint is provided with lubricant-filled boot secured on housing by spring ring. Distance bushing precluding displacement of boot from cylindrical surface of pin is installed at base of ball head. Invention is aimed at reducing wear of shells owing to provision of effective lubrication of inner friction surfaces of shells and outer surface of pin sphere at simultaneous exclusion of intolerable increase of axial clearance in ball joint at variable loads.
EFFECT: improved service characteristics of ball-and-socket joint and reliable sealing of joint.
