FIELD: rolled stock production, possibly sizing and further rolling, mainly of large-size channel bars.
SUBSTANCE: method is designed for process of stable rolling of strip in semi-closed test gages with flange slope more than 20%. Method comprises steps of multi-pass reducing of strip between rolls having grooved passes with bent web and slope of flanges in range 25 -30% with use of semi-closed test gages; using test gage and previous to it gage with doubled slope of flanges and with the same length of portions adjacent to web of bar; setting slope values of flange portions at side of roll parting less by 10% than those values of flange portions adjacent to web; using slope values of respective flange portions in test gage exceeding by 2 - 5% those of previous gage.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of biting and holding rolled strip flanges in recesses of lower grooved pass of semi-closed gage.
