APPARATUS FOR CENTERING STRIP COILS IN UNCOILER Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC B21C47/34 

FIELD: rolled stock production, mainly uncoilers mounted in aggregates for slitting and cross cutting of strip.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes carriages mounted at both sides from axis of strip cutting aggregate. Carriages are mounted with possibility of reciprocation motion normal relative to axis of aggregate in guides of stationary thick plates. In order to clamp and hold coil at centering, mounted in carriages cones are used. Carriages are moved by means of hydraulic drive having hydraulic cylinders whose rods are joined with carriages. Rod cavity and piston cavity of hydraulic cylinders through hydraulic cut-off valve, distributors for controlling hydraulic cylinders and working liquid flow-rate regulators are connected through pipelines with pump-accumulation station and through two proportional hydraulic distributors with pump aggregate of centering system. Said system includes pump, electric motor, proportional pressure valve, pressure pickup, pressure gauge and non-return valve in pressure main pipeline of pump. Rod cavities of hydraulic cylinders through non-return valves are connected with electrically discharged pressure valve. Pressure pickups are arranged in supply branches of rod cavities of hydraulic cylinders. Apparatus includes in addition position pickups of carriages and of strip and electronic control unit of system for strip centering. Said electronic control unit includes programmable logic controller, two linear boosters of proportional hydraulic distributors, linear booster of proportional pressure pickup and potentiometer for manually controlling position of uncoiler.

EFFECT: lowered width of trimmed edges, lowered quantity of crops, increased number of strips cut in slitting aggregates, increased metal yield, improved efficiency of aggregates for strip cutting.
