APPARATUS FOR CENTERING STRIP COILS IN UNCOILER Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC B21B39/14 

FIELD: rolled stock production, namely uncoilers of aggregates for lengthwise and crosswise cutting strip.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus for centering strip coil in uncoiler includes carriages mounted at both sides from uncoiler axis with possibility of reciprocation motion normal relative to said axis along rails on stationary platens; cones for clamping and holding coil at centering it; units for rotating cones mounted in carriages; hydraulic drive for moving carriages having hydraulic cylinders whose rods are joined with carriages. Rod cavities and piston cavities of said hydraulic cylinders through four-way control distributors of hydraulic cylinders and through regulators of working liquid flow rate are connected by means of pipelines with pumping station. Rod and piston cavities of hydraulic cylinder are mutually communicated through two-position hydraulic distributor for centering. Said four-way control distributors of hydraulic cylinders for moving carriages are arranged lower than said hydraulic cylinders. Length L of rod cavities of hydraulic cylinders exceeds value of maximum stroke H of rods and it is determined according to relation: L ≥ D²H/(D² - d²) where D - diameter of hydraulic cylinder; d - diameter of rod.

EFFECT: improved operational reliability of apparatus for centering coils in uncoiler, lowered quantity of scrap, reduced metal losses for rejection in cutting aggregates, enhanced efficiency of aggregates, decreased cost of apparatus, lowered expenses for reconstruction of existing cutting aggregates.
