FIELD: sealing engineering.

SUBSTANCE: brush seal comprises bristles secured for permitting balancing the load on the movable surface by the pressure of fluid to be compressed. The bristles are combined to define a unit and mounted on the bearing collar of the housing groove. The device is provided with passages for by-passing fluid through the units and passages for throttling fluid from the high-pressure space for permitting control of the pressure of fluid to be compressed between the units and at the site of conjunction of the sealing ends with the movable contact surface.
