SEALING UNIT Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: sealing units for rotating shafts of gas- and steam-turbine engines, plants, compressors and superchargers, piston compressors and internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: sealing unit includes two sealing members providing balancing of pressure values of working fluid. One sealing member (separating member) is joined with part of non-contact surface of other sealing member. There is space near high-pressure cavity. At other side space of bottom of turning of housing is connected through draining duct with low-pressure cavity. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of sealing. 21 cl, 19 dwg _
