FIELD: nuclear power engineering; nuclear power installations.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method for regenerating cold traps for sodium coolant impurities to remove accumulated impurities and to recover mass-transfer characteristics of cold traps for impurities of sodium-coolant circuits includes trap heating to temperature ranging within 360°C≤t<397°C, coolant circulation over closed loop through mentioned cold trap, evacuated regeneration chamber having developed sodium surface, and cooled oxide settler for removing hydrogen in the form of impurity compounds and settling down excess sodium oxide on regenerating chamber and oxide settler surfaces.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability, efficiency, and safety of cold trap regeneration process.
