FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to drilling equipment, namely, to impregnated diamond bit. Diamond impregnated bit includes a body and a diamond-containing matrix with concentric ridges divided by flushing channels into working sectors. Rows of wear-resistant material are installed along outer and inner parts of working sectors between rows of cutting diamond grains. Concentration of diamonds in the impregnated layer along the inner part of each working sector on width of 0.20–0.30 of the sector width along the radius of the bit is greater than concentration of diamonds in the rest of the impregnated layer. Besides, on outer and inner parts of working sectors there are rows of rods from superhard material installed between rows of undercutting diamonds, wear resistance of which is higher than that of hard alloy material. Diameter of diamonds of the impregnated layer is determined depending on the destructive load on the diamond and the tensile and compression strength of the rock. All diamonds of the bit impregnated layer have the same compression strength.
EFFECT: higher operational resistance of the bit and mechanical drilling speed.
