FIELD: engine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine comprises at least one cylinder with the cooling jacket, inlet and outlet valves, spark plug, piston and cylinder head that define the combustion chamber, source of hydrogen and oxygen, and nozzle and source of the electrolyte. The source of hydrogen and oxygen is made of an electrolyzer made of metal and mounted inside the pressure-tight housing provided with the cooling jacket and deflector in the outlet branch pipe. The source of hydrogen and oxygen is made for permitting supplying current from the DC source to its electrodes, free passage of the electrolyte through it, and decomposition of water into hydrogen and oxygen as well as for permitting supplying the gas mixture obtained to the inlet branch pipe of the cylinder. Each cylinder on the engine is provided with the source of electrolyte made of a high-pressure pump connected with the crank mechanism kinematically or through the control unit. The electrolyzer is mounted on the engine separately for each cylinder. The electrolyzer is provided with openings or made of a metallic grid made of two electrodes members. The nozzle is provided with the catalyzer made of a local constriction of the passage (nozzle).
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and reduced harmful emission.
