FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to internal combustion engines using hydrogen in working cycle. Proposed internal combustion engine contains at least one cylinder with cooling jacket, piston and cylinder head forming combustion chamber, intake and exhaust valves, hydrogen and oxygen source, fuel feed device, nozzle and ignition system. Hydrogen and oxygen source is made in form of electrolyzer communicating through intake pipeline with cylinder and arranged in sealed housing with cooling jacket. Electrolyzer is installed on engine separately for each cylinder and is made with possibility of supply of dc current from current source to its electrodes, free passage of water solution of electrolyte and delivery of gas mixture into intake pipeline. Electrolyzer is furnished with outlet branch pipe with cut off device. Fuel feed device is made in form of high-pressure pump for delivering water solution of electrolyte into electrolyzer mechanically coupled with crank-and-connecting rod mechanism or connected with said mechanism through control unit. Ignition system is made in form of electrodes with adjustable gap with supply of direct current, ignition and extinction of electric arc. Electrodes are installed in combustion chamber.
EFFECT: provision of fuel saving and ecologically orientated internal combustion engine.
