FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cleaning of exhaust gases of diesel engines. Proposed method includes atomizing of water mist at pressure of 10-300 bar in first part of exhaust gases to create rarefaction near atomizing stream and suction of first part of exhaust into atomizing stream, directing second part of exhaust gases through bypass past atomizing stream to control resistance of exhaust gas flow. Device has housing, pipeline arranged inside housing, fastening devices for mounting proposed device on branched pipeline of internal combustion engine, atomizing heads mounted on support structure n form of circle between housing and pipeline at a distance form each other. First end of pipeline is provided with hole to direct flow of cleaned exhaust gases to outlet hole on second end of pipeline. Atomizing heads are located inside pipes which form reaction chambers. Reaction chambers are provided with inlet hole to direct flow of exhaust gases to suction area of atomizing heads and are connected with reaction products discharge pipeline.
EFFECT: improved cleaning of exhaust gases.
