FIELD: rolled stock production, namely manufacture of coiled hot rolled strip steel in continuous wide strip rolling mills.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of rolling rough and finish groups of stands of rolling mill for producing rolled piece of predetermined thickness hi; cooling strips in outlet roller table and coiling them. According to invention thickness of rolled piece Hi behind rough group of stands is set depending upon value hi, namely: H1 = 7.55 h1 for h1 = 6.0 - 7.9 mm; H2 =7.37(h2 - 1.76) for h2 = 8.0 -9.9 mm; H3 = 13(h3 - 6.38) for h3= 10 - 11 mm. Cooling of strips is started 5 - 10 s later termination of rolling process. For steel with carbon content 0.15 -0.16 mass % coiling temperature is in range 540 - 570°C and for steel with carbon content more than 0.16 mass % is in range 550 -590°C.
EFFECT: improved strength properties of steel, enhanced capability of tubes of such steel for cold upsetting without cracking.
