FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; briquetting of powdery and pulverous wastes of ferroalloys production.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of ferrous metallurgy, in particular, to briquetting of powdery and pulverous wastes of ferroalloys production, namely to briquetting of powdery wastes of ferrosilicon. The powdery ferrosilicon is batched, mixed with alkaline binding, consisting of silicon and a water solution of an alkaline element - sodium or potassium hydroxide. The mixture is pressed to form briquettes, which are dried and strengthened. Before starting the mixing introduce a plasticizer. In the capacity of the plasticizer introduce an inorganic material, for example, bentonite or an organic material, for example, polysterene. Before initiation of drying the briquettes are previously strengthened by neutralization of the alkaline element hydroxide presented in the binding material of the mixture using a treatment of the compressed briquettes with a carbonic gas. The invention allows to decrease a degree of oxidation of silicon in the briquettes and to improve their solubility in the molten metals and alloys.

EFFECT: the invention allows to decrease a degree of oxidation of silicon in the briquettes and to improve the briquettes solubility in the molten metals and alloys.
