MIXTURE TO PRODUCE CARBON-CARRYING BRIQUETTES Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2202633 C1

FIELD: metallurgy, preparation of multicomponent briquettes for winning of steel, cast iron and ferroalloys. SUBSTANCE: mixture to produce carbon-carrying briquettes includes, parts by mass: dust-like screenings of commercial ferroalloys 5.0-20.0; carbon-containing fines 20.0-65.0; semi-burnt dolomite 5.0-10.0; water 5.0-10.0. Finely dispersed graphite or waste of graphitization of electrode production can be used in the capacity carbon-containing fines. Utilization of proposed mixture to produce carbon-containing briquettes makes it feasible to obtain strong, water- and heat-resistance briquettes with low production cost thanks to use of inexpensive starting materials which provides for their storage and transportation without any protective measures and to diminish considerably dust entrainment raising degree of extraction of target elements and decreasing by that cost of produced alloys. EFFECT: raised degree of extraction of target elements and decreased cost of produced alloy. 2 cl, 2 tbl
