FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion piston engines.
SUBSTANCE: compressor 3 is connected with energy converter 1 by means of drive shaft 2. Compressor and energy converter are of similar design, each consisting of two rotors 8 provided with radial projections 9 constantly in touch with each other and with corresponding housing 7. Free space 10 is formed between radial projections. Rotors of energy converter rotate under action of exhaust gas pressure. Rotation of compressor rotors provides delivery of pre-compressed air into engine cylinders. One of rotors of converter is secured on drive shaft. Rotors of energy converter, together with their radial projections, form solid obstacle to propagation of noise from engine at discharge of exhaust gases.
EFFECT: increased power at simultaneous reduction of noise.
