SUBSTANCE: proposed three-phase double-layer lap winding with 2p = 10 in z = 144 slots and coils grouped in row 5 5 5 5 4 repeated 6 times is made of 6p = 30 coil groups numbered 1G through 30G at mean slot pitch of coils yc = 12. Novelty is that in order to reduce differential dissipation σd in m' = six-band fractional-pitch (q = 24/5) lap winding, coil groups 2G and 3G in first-grouping coil groups 1G through 5G have turn numbers (1 - x)wc in fifth coil of coil group 2G and in first coil of coil group 2G, and coil group 5G has turn number (1 + x)wc in second and third coils at turn number wc in remaining coil groups with 2wc turns in each slot. Mentioned distribution of coils with unequal turn number is repeated in each next grouping at index of phase group inequality x = 0.23.
EFFECT: reduced differential dissipation in fractional-pitch lap winding.
