FIELD: lighting equipment engineering, can be used for lighting high-pressure gas-discharge lamps, operating in alternating-current network as built-in element of industrial buildings lighting grids and street lights.

SUBSTANCE: serial ignition device, positioned inside the body filled with epoxide compound, contains pulse transformer, beginning of secondary winding of which is first, and end of secondary winding is second output of device, accumulating capacitor, its discharge circuit, loading resistor with capacitor bridging it - third output of device. For protection from current surges protective resistor is additionally included in this discharge circuit between second common point of connection of loading resistor with capacitor bridging it and third output of device, nominal of which is related to nominal of loading resistor within limits 5·10-3≤Rprot/Rload≤10-2. Thus, high-voltage key (SIDAC) is protected from being burned through. For stabilizing operation of pulse transformer ferrite core is positioned inside the elastic plastic cover, protecting it from aforementioned filling compound.

EFFECT: reliable ignition of metal-halogen lamps, preventing electrical disruptions of circuits during engagement of igniting device and realization of its stale operation within broad range of environment temperature alternation at temperature of device itself ranging from -60°C to +100°C.
