SUBSTANCE: method involves determining postoperative hernia risk factors. Risk factors importance is estimated from table 4. The received points are summed up. The sum being equal to 0-5 points, plastic repair is not advised. The value being equal to 6-10 points, conditional indications to preventive plastic operation are given. 11-20 points being the case, preventive plastic operation is to be unconditionally indicated.

EFFECT: reduced postoperative hernia incidence after operation on abdominal cavity.
