FIELD: chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the improved method for preparing melamine. Method involves pyrolysis of urea under high pressure wherein urea interacts in reaction in common with NH3. Prepared melt of melamine is fed in common with added urea to the cooling reactor and the melt is cooled to temperature by 1-50°C but preferably by 1-30°C above of the melamine melting point depending on prevailing pressure of NH3. Addition of NH3 by countercurrent results to replacing formed CO2 and then melamine melt is treated by any suitable method but preferably by solidifying the melt. Method provides enhancing degree of conversion of the parent urea and to decline the level of by-side products.
EFFECT: improved preparing method.
