FIELD: technology for cartography of magnetic field in volume, containing no magnetic field sources and ferromagnetic materials.

SUBSTANCE: in accordance to method, for determining components of magnetic field inside closed volume, indicators of magnetic field are positioned around, but outside the boundary of volume, coordinates and orientation of indicators are measured, and magnetic field components are calculated in multiple points of volume boundary on basis of measured values of components, coordinates and indicators orientation. Dimensions of surrounding space are selected based on given precision for determining components of magnetic field inside closed volume. Edge problem is resolved with utilization of calculated components as boundary conditions.

EFFECT: because precise placement of sensors is replaced with precise measurements, requirements to plant precision and indicators orientation are reduced, measuring procedure is simplified.
