FIELD: processes for applying liquids or other fluent materials on non-metal substrates, for instance made of wood, plastics or gypsum or cement-based materials, composition materials, preferably on medium-density fiberboards or on substrates formed of cellulose-based materials.
SUBSTANCE: method involves treating non-conducting substrate with steam and heat combination at 70-140° temperature for 5 sec-10 min; grounding the substrate and applying powder coating thereto by electrostatic method.
EFFECT: increased simplicity, reliability and efficiency, possibility to obtain uniform powder coating over the full surface including edge surfaces, prevention of disturbance in powder film hardening.
