FIELD: distillation of water.
SUBSTANCE: standard distillation of water depends on boiling point of liquid. But distillation may be performed at temperatures considerably below boiling point. During distillation, compound is converted from liquid phase to gaseous phase, after which it is condensed to liquid which is pure. Proposed method is based on use of water sprayed and absorbed on solid surface such as micro-powder made from wood in form of starting material. Absorbing the water on such surface causes fast evaporation at relative low temperature gradient if water and particles are mixed. Proposed distillation may be classified as solid-phase distillation.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
