FIELD: railway transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to construction and repair of railways. Proposed rail joint grinder has frame with fitted-on grips and hold-downs, hydraulic cylinders whose rods are connected with guide provided with carriage with abrasive wheel engaging with drive, and abrasive wheel cutting-in depth sensor. Faceplates are installed on frame for turning through 180° on which rods of hydraulic cylinders are secured. Faceplates are rigidly interconnected by bars, and grips are fitted in pairs opposite to each other in zone of machining of rail with possibility of shifting and clamping of rail foot by end faces.
EFFECT: improved quality of machined weld, simplified design of device owing to prevention of misalignment of faceplates relative to each other and skewing of rail head at its fixing.
