FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: rails are installed on roller supports and fixed in centring grips. The welded joint is at the centre of the base. Reference points are defined at both sides of the welded joint to start and end polishing. Parts of the joint are polished within at least one operating cycle between two reference points. The rail head is divided into several strips. Strips are arranged along the transverse profile of the rail head next to each other and also polished one after another. The grinding disk after polishing of each strip is removed from a rail. Reference points for polishing of each strip are defined by measurement of the rail head profile on the entire length of the operating stroke at both sides of the welded joint. The grinding disk contact with a rail head at one side of the joint in one of the reference points. Availability of contact between the grinding disk and the rail is reflected with a vibratory or a light sensor. Polishing to another basic point is done by results of the measured longitudinal profile of the rail head with axial installation of the grinding disk. In case of reverse movement of the grinding disk, the treated surface of each strip is controlled.
EFFECT: increased productivity and efficiency, higher quality of treatment and increased resource of grinding disk operation.
