FIELD: electronic engineering; matrix-type flat cathodic-luminescent television screens and vacuum luminescent displays.
SUBSTANCE: proposed screen has vacuum envelope assembled of two glass plates, set of cathodes, lines of anode electrodes deposited on one of glass plates in the form of phosphor-covered strips connected by means of current-carrying tracks to external leads through contact pads; it also has control electrodes orthogonal to anode ones that form light-emitting segments (lines); novelty is that set of cathodes is made in the form of plurality of filaments, control electrodes being disposed on other glass plate in parallel with cathode-set filaments, and distance between centers of adjacent cathode-set filaments and adjacent control-electrode buses equals line pitch. In addition, control electrodes are made in the form of plurality of filaments disposed on internal side of other glass plate.
EFFECT: simplified design, enhanced manufacturability and reliability, reduced labor consumption and metal input.
