FIELD: data display facilities. SUBSTANCE: screen designed for multipurpose displays of any type of information including digital, alphanumeric, graphical data for individual and shared use has vacuum envelope incorporating face panel and insulating base with rows of anode electrodes made in the form of parallel phosphor-covered strips of at least one color which are connected by means of current-carrying tracks to external leads through contact pads; vacuum envelope accommodates filament cathodes and control electrodes orthogonal to anode electrodes that form light-emitting segments; newly introduced in screen is at least one pair of shock absorbers in the form of bars covered with insulating material; control electrodes are placed in-between orthogonally with respect to these bars; distance between two shock absorbers corresponds to thickness of control electrode; diameter of top shock absorber does not exceed that of bottom one. In addition, distance from center of bottom shock absorber and set of anode electrodes as well as distance from set of control electrodes and set of anode electrodes are interrelated by equation Xbsh.c.-ae= Xc.s-ae-1/2Db.sh.a, where Xbsh.c.-ae is distance between center of bottom shock absorber and set of anode electrodes; Xc.s-ae is distance between set of control electrodes and set of anode electrodes; Db.sh.a is diameter of bottom shock absorber. In this way optimal geometry of grid unit strips relative to anode panel is attained and grid unit is reliably secured within luminescent cathodic screen.
