FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a new derivative of chromanone, namely to (R)-2-aminomethyl-4-chromanone that is an intermediate substance used in synthesis of (R)-2-[5-(4-fluorophenyl)-3-pyridylmethylamine]chromane showing effect on the central nervous system. Also, the invention relates to a method for preparing (R)-2-aminomethyl-4-chromanone. Method involves using a nonracemic chiral catalyst in the hydrogenation reaction of compound of the formula (II): wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 mean hydrogen atom (H), and R6 means acyl comprising from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, -CO-Ar or amino-protecting group in order to obtain compound of the formula (III): wherein radicals R1-R6 corresponds to above given values, and radical R is split. Invention provides preparing a new substance for synthesis of the known compound showing activity with respect to the central nervous system.

EFFECT: improved preparing method, valuable medicinal properties of derivatives.
