FIELD: electrical engineering; brushes for electrical machines handling high power, vibration, and impact loads, such as traction motors.
SUBSTANCE: novelty is that electrical machine brush built of two split parts with pigtails suffering pressure of hold-down device has each of its split parts divided over radial size into current supply and working members with contacting surfaces beveled at certain angle to axes of split parts of brushes and contacting surfaces of pigtails and working members of split parts form wedge toward contact surface with angle α = 124 - 152 deg., α-to-pressure ratio being chosen between 2.48 and 4.34 deg./kPa and ratio of brush tangential size to radial size of working member, as measured between vortex of wedge angle α and contact surface is 0.70 - 0.85. Such brush is characterized in affording equal conditions for current collection from standpoint of vibration stability in reverse rotation of commutator.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability and stability of contact and mechanical endurance of contact pairs, eliminated sludging of commutator segments.
