FIELD: protection of transport and industrial electrical equipment in emergency situations.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes checkup of load power circuit for condition and breaking of electromechanical circuit-breaker contacts in emergency situations by discharging first pre-charged capacitor through first controlled electronic switch onto demagnetizing-coil circuit whereupon arc formed in arc-control chamber is elongated and broken in predetermined time interval sufficient for producing arc between contacts; to this end second pre-charged capacitor is discharged through second controlled electronic switch onto arc-suppression coil circuit.
EFFECT: enhanced speed of response and efficiency of protective gear; reduced fire hazard in emergency situations, enlarged service life of circuit breaker.
