FIELD: civil engineering; nondestructive testing.
SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method places of possible maximum deformations in reinforcement bars and in concrete are determined and strain gauges are installed in these places and then construction is loaded by test mechanical static load not exceeding its maximum value as to strength of concrete and reinforcement bars and strain values are determined. Construction is subjected to load in one and the same place from 5 to 10 times by applying constant value static mechanical load at two to five different steps of loading. Basing on results of two to five tests, average values of deformations are found and accordingly two to five values of confidence intervals of measured deformations and curve is plotted showing relation between average values of deformation under load and confidence limits. Deformations are measured simultaneously in two extreme reinforcement bars and it two extreme points in concrete on upper edge of compressed zone of member in weakest section of structural member. Basing on average values of deformations in reinforcement bars and concrete, curves are plotted showing relation between deformations under load and confidence limits approximating them by polynomials of second-fifth degrees. On curve showing relation between deformation under load value of maximum deformation is laid off on x-axis taken from code of practice on design of reinforced concrete constructions and strength (maximum load) of construction is determined separately by strength of reinforcement bars and strength of concrete from graph taking minimum of two values.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of determination of load-carrying capacity of constructions.
