SUBSTANCE: method involves checking single quality characteristics of compressed timber structure members; measuring weak sections; determining compressed member shapes, species and grade of wood, heat distribution over weak sections at the time of fire; setting critical charred layer thickness in transversal sections of compressed timber structure members, average wood charring rate in direction normal to cross-section; calculating threshold fire stability.
EFFECT: elimination of fire tests inside the building, reduced labor inputs for fire stability determination, extended range of technical means for fire stability determination, possibility to perform tests without operational process disturbance in building.
