SUBSTANCE: invention describes the compound R-(-)-1-[2-(7-chlorobenzo[b]thiophene-3-ylmethoxy)-2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)ethyl]-1H-imidazole of the formula (I) 
and its salts, in particular, its mononitrate. Also, invention relates to a method for preparing compound of the formula (I) possessing antifungal effect based on compound of the formula (I), and using compound of the formula (I) as an active component of the antifungal composition. Compound of the formula (I) can be used in compositions for treatment of fungal infections in humans or animals and against diseases of agricultural crops.
EFFECT: improved preparing method, valuable properties of compound and composition.
