FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed pole designed for use in high-power ac salient-pole electrical machines, primarily those suffering heavy electromagnetic and heat loads, is provided with bimetal cheeks with fastenings and damping field winding bars. Each cheek of pole core has trapezium-section nonmagnetic inserts disposed in radial part of pole shoe along its axis between damping-winding bars in special slots arranged between damping-winding bars, as well as above bars and within pole shoe body along its radial component; fastenings of nonmagnetic inserts are made of nonmagnetic material; nonmagnetic inserts are locked in slots on longitudinal edges.
EFFECT: reduced heating of pole-core end stacks and labor consumption for cheek manufacture; reduced consumption of high-cost materials for nonmagnetic inserts such as titanium.
