WATER-WHEEL GENERATOR BUILT-IN OIL BATH Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC H02K5/12 

FIELD: electrical engineering; heavy electromechanical engineering; large electrical machines and oil baths for thrust bearings and bearings of water-wheel generators.

SUBSTANCE: proposed oil bath built in water-wheel generator is formed by walls and bottom of spider central part and recess that constitutes annular wall of bath in the form of cylinder with slot passed through this wall, as well as bushing provided on the outside. Novelty is that sealing rings are installed in top part of mentioned recess, on outer diameter side; they are joined with cylindrical part of recess and form circular chute accommodating floating-type seal made in the form of ring clasped to revolving bushing by means of elastic members uniformly disposed in axial direction over circumference between vertical wall of recess and seal and set on guide rods; these members are supported on one end by bottom of depressions provided in seal on inner diameter side and on other end they are abutting against cylindrical part of recess mounting guide rods; seal is provided with locking member made in the form of thrust pins disposed in vertical depressions of seals and secured in top ring of circular chute. Provision is made for eliminating oil leakage from inner diameter side of bath to passages between shaft, recess, and bushing under impact of centrifugal forces when machine rotor is running.

EFFECT: enhanced operating reliability of oil bath holding water-wheel generator parts.
