DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS METHOD FOR RECOGNIZING CEREBRAL EDEMA TYPES IN NEUROSURGICAL PATIENTS Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC A61B5/145

Abstract RU 2278611 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves monitoring cerebral oxygenation state. The cerebral oxygenation is bilaterally studied and inter-hemispheric asymmetry coefficient rSO2 (KA) is determined as KA = (rSO2max-rSO2min)x100%/ rSO2min, where rSO2min is the cerebral oxygenation index minimum value, rSO2max is the greater value of the oxygenation index. Hemodynamic conformity index is calculated as HCI = rSO2/Apm, where rSO2 is the cerebral oxygenation index and Apm is the mean arterial blood pressure. KA value being greater than 15% and HCI value being less than 0.45, local cerebral edema is to be diagnosed. KA value being equal to or less than 15% and HCI value being greater than 0.45, diffuse cerebral edema is to be diagnosed.

EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis.
