SUBSTANCE: method involves monitoring cerebral oxygenation state. The cerebral oxygenation is bilaterally studied and inter-hemispheric asymmetry coefficient rSO₂ (KA) is determined as KA = (rSO₂max-rSO₂min)x100%/ rSO₂min, where rSO₂min is the cerebral oxygenation index minimum value, rSO₂max is the greater value of the oxygenation index. Hemodynamic conformity index is calculated as HCI = rSO₂/Ap_m, where rSO₂ is the cerebral oxygenation index and Ap_m is the mean arterial blood pressure. KA value being greater than 15% and HCI value being less than 0.45, local cerebral edema is to be diagnosed. KA value being equal to or less than 15% and HCI value being greater than 0.45, diffuse cerebral edema is to be diagnosed.

EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis.
